Christian Reformed Church of Stratford (“Stratford CRC”) is committed to protecting the personal information of our members, guests, and website users. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
What Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed for the life and ministry of our church, including:
- Contact information (name, address, phone number, email)
- Significant dates provided by members (birthdays, baptisms, professions of faith, marriages, deaths)
- Membership status and related church records
- Information submitted through our building rental inquiry form
- Information related to participation in ministries or volunteer roles
- Financial donation information required for issuing tax receipts
We also collect general information for livestreaming and bulletin publication.
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
Support pastoral care and ministry
Maintain accurate membership records
Provide tax receipts and required financial reporting
Produce the printed church directory (available through the church office)
Update and manage the Bridge App directory (accessible only to verified members)
Share birthdays of members (age 65+) in the church bulletin
Contribute required records to denominational archives
We do not sell, trade, or share personal information with outside parties except where required by law or explicitly permitted by you.
Livestreaming & Online Bulletins
We livestream our worship services, but we do not identify attendees by name unless they are participating publicly in the service.
Our weekly bulletins may include submitted announcements or prayer information, but these documents are not publicly searchable and are shared only through our regular church channels.
How We Protect Your Information
Stratford CRC takes reasonable measures to keep information secure:
- Locked offices, safes, and filing cabinets
- Password-protected digital systems
- Limited staff/volunteer access
- Shredding or securely deleting information when no longer needed
- Secure distribution practices (e.g., sealed envelopes)
- Restricted access to the Bridge App directory, with the ability for individuals to opt out
Your Rights
You may:
- Request access to your personal information
- Ask for corrections to inaccurate information
- Withdraw or change your consent for how we share your information (e.g., directories, bulletins)
