What to Expect

Our Sunday worship services last 75-90 minutes and include a blend of traditional hymns and modern praise songs, led by gifted members of our congregation. Services are led by one of our two pastors.

Fellowship

We gather for refreshments and fellowship between the two morning services, and all are welcome to stay. Join us in the fellowship hall on the lower level.

To reach the church, turn onto Freeland Drive from Lorne Avenue, then follow Athlone Crescent.

You are welcome to park in our parking lot, accessible from two driveways (second and third entrances on the left when entering from Freeland. Visitor parking is available in the lower lot next to the building and noted with signage.

  • Second driveway: Leads into the main parking lot.

  • Street parking is available along Athlone and Freeland. Help us be good neighbours and please avoid parking opposite driveways.

Accessibility

  • You may enter through the covered drop-off for stair-free access to the sanctuary.

  • An elevator is available; simply ask anyone nearby and they will assist you.

For Families and Children

We care deeply about nurturing children in faith, safety, and community. During our Sunday services, we offer:

Nursery (0-2 years)

Care for children up to the age of two is provided in our nursery, located on the same level as the sanctuary. Staffed by caring volunteers.

A mother’s room is available for nursing mothers to remain with their child during the service.

Sunday School (Ages 3-8)

Children begin the service with their families and are dismissed after the children’s message. They’re invited to the front for a short message and prayer before heading downstairs for Sunday School. All children must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.

Check-in and Safety

Nursery-aged children are signed in when they are dropped off and signed out when they are picked up after the service.

When dismissed for Sunday School, parents and guardians take their children downstairs to sign them in at their classroom and sign them out after the service for safety.

The mother’s room is available in the library during services, with audio from the service so you can stay connected.

What time are your services?

We have morning services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and an evening service every other week at 6:30 p.m. Please check the events calendar for evening service dates.

Where should I enter?

Visitors may enter through the lower entrance to be welcomed by a greeter and guided upstairs. You’ll pass the nursery on your left. For stair-free access, use the covered drop-off entrance on the sanctuary level.

What is a service like?

A typical Stratford CRC service lasts 75–90 minutes and follows a call-and-response pattern: God speaks to us, and we respond with song, prayer, or confession. Services begin with God’s greeting and include a mix of songs, prayers, scripture readings, and offerings throughout.

Families are welcome! Children join their parents at the start and are dismissed during the children’s message to Sunday School. Afterward, the service continues with Bible readings and the sermon. Communion is celebrated on a regular schedule, but not at every service.

Our music is blended, featuring traditional hymns, piano, organ, praise teams, and other instruments: each week brings something different thanks to our members volunteering to lead worship.

Following the 8:30 a.m. service, all are invited downstairs for fellowship and refreshments. Those attending the 10:30 a.m. service can arrive early and join in for coffee as well.

For a full outline of the service, see our media page.

Where do my children go?

Nursery is available for ages 0-2. Children ages 3-8 are dismissed partway through the service for Sunday School downstairs, with required sign-in and sign-out. You are also welcome to keep your children with you.

Is the building accessible?

Yes. Accessible parking is located near the covered drop-off, and an elevator is available. Accessible washrooms are available at the back of the sanctuary and on the lower level.

We also offer hearing assistance devices.

What should I wear?

Wear what you’re comfortable in. Attire ranges from business casual to jeans.

We would be pleased to welcome you this Sunday.

If you have any questions or want help planning your visit, we’re here for you.
