75 Years of God's Faithfulness

In 2026, Stratford Christian Reformed Church is celebrating 75 years of God’s faithfulness. Since our organization in 1951, our congregation has grown through generations of worship, fellowship, service, and community life.

What began with 16 Dutch immigrant families has grown into a multigenerational church family of approximately 500 members. Through changing seasons, different church homes, and the many people who have helped shape our congregation, God has continued to lead us.

Our 75th anniversary is an opportunity to look back with gratitude, celebrate the people and stories that have brought us here, and look forward with hope to what God has in store for Stratford CRC.

We invite you to celebrate with us as we honour the past, give thanks for the present, and look towards the future.

Our History

Stratford CRC began with 77 members gathering at the YMCA on the corner of Waterloo and Coburg Streets. Over the years, our congregation worshipped in several locations, including the corner of Church and Easson Street, and 200 Ontario Street, before moving to our current home on Athlone Crescent in 2005.

Through the years, Stratford CRC has been a place where people have gathered to worship, grow in faith, raise families, serve one another, and care for our wider community. Today, we continue that legacy as a multigenerational congregation rooted in Scripture and committed to living out our faith together.

Celebrating 75 years together

Our anniversary celebrations are an opportunity for the whole church family and our wider community to take part. From sharing stories and creating generational quilts to gathering for special events, we want to celebrate God’s faithfulness through all generations.

Our anniversary theme, God Is Faithful, reflects our gratitude for the past and our hope for the future.

Share Your Story

Whether you’ve been part of Stratford CRC for one week or 70+ years, we’re eager to hear about your journey. Your story may encourage and bless someone else. Share how you came to Stratford CRC, the people who have made a difference, or the ways you’ve experienced God’s faithfulness.

75 Acts of Kindness

As part of our 75th anniversary celebrations, we’re working together to complete 75 Acts of Kindness, and then 75 more! The 75 Acts of Kindness bulletin board, located next to the gym doors, offers ideas for simple ways for us to bless others in our everyday lives.

From paying for a stranger’s coffee and leaving an encouraging note to helping a neighbour or preparing a meal, each act is an opportunity to show God’s love through kindness and thoughtfulness. As our church family takes part, we’re celebrating the ways small acts can make a difference in the lives of others and in our wider community.

Through these acts of kindness, we hope to bless others, strengthen our connections, and reflect God’s faithfulness throughout our 75th anniversary year.
